Ambassador's Speech

I am pleased to welcome you to this space, which we intended to be a window for anyone who wants to learn more about Algeria or raise a concern, in an interactive approach that allows for continuous communication between the Algerian Embassy in Pretoria, members of the community, our friends, and embassy visitors in the friendly Republic of South Africa.

It is a source of pleasure and pride to represent my country, Algeria, in the country of the great freedom fighter and dear friend, Madiba, after having been entrusted by the President of the Republic to assume this mission.

As I greet each and every member of our community, I hope to be your best representative in this friendly country and that you will be of great assistance to me in carrying out my duties and in representing our country in the best possible way, for you are all representatives of your country wherever you are.

Relations between Algeria and South Africa are linked by our belonging to the beloved African continent and by the common struggle that united us against colonialism and apartheid, and the struggle that continues to unite us to work to raise the standard of living and social well-being of the citizens of both countries in particular and of Africans in general. We are called upon more than ever to work together to strengthen our economic and trade relations and exchange expertise in various fields, making our cooperation and engagement more practical and realistic, benefiting future generations and serving our continent: Africa.

I call upon my Algerian brothers and sisters to be the best representatives of their country in this friendly Nation, to strive together to serve the interests of the Algerian community in South Africa, and to work together to advance relations between our two friendly countries.

Long live the Algerian-South African friendship.
