Minister Attaf receives phone call from American counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received a telephone call on Monday from the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.

During this telephone conversation, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the situation in Gaza, emphasizing the ongoing negotiations within the Security Council regarding the draft resolution presented by the ten elected members of the UN body "E-10" with the aim of promoting an immediate, lasting and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.

It should be noted that within the so-called "E-10" group, Algeria was at the origin of the said draft resolution, the content of which it negotiated with the other members of the Security Council.

This call came as part of the vote on this draft resolution scheduled for Monday in the Security Council.
