Algeria/South Africa: Second session of political consultations

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Lounès Magramane, paid a visit to Pretoria (South Africa) on Monday during which he co-chaired with the Director General of the Ministry of International Relations and cooperation, Zane Dangor, the 2nd session of political consultations between the two countries.

The talks between the two parties made it possible to reaffirm the depth of the exceptional historical ties between Algeria and South Africa. The meeting also made it possible to carry out an overall assessment of bilateral cooperation and to propose the means to strengthen and expand it in various areas, in anticipation of the holding of the 7th session of the High Bilateral Cooperation Commission planned. this year in Algiers under the joint presidency of the presidents of the two countries.

The holding of this session takes place in the context of geopolitical developments that the world is experiencing. Thus, the two parties held an exchange of views on several international and regional issues of common interest, highlighting the convergence of the positions of the two countries towards several current issues, headed by the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. and the Sahrawi cause, in addition to strengthening bilateral coordination and consultation at the level of continental and international organizations and bodies.
